Child safety standards

These standards cover the Campus Life platform, its mobile app and the campuslife.am website. They bind us, the academies using the platform, and their staff alike.

Any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation is an absolute prohibition for us: it is not tolerated in any form, under any pretext, in any context.

The platform is intended for students aged 14 and over. For anyone under 18, creating an account and entering into a training agreement require the consent of a legal guardian.

The academy runs the teaching: it admits students, forms groups and answers for the conduct of its staff. We provide the platform, uphold these standards and step in when a report arrives.

The platform and the app prohibit:

• any child sexual abuse or exploitation material — uploading, storing, sending or linking to it;
• sexualised communication with a minor, including gradual befriending intended to build trust;
• soliciting personal or intimate material, or contact details, from a minor;
• inviting a minor to communicate privately off the platform for any purpose unrelated to their studies;
• using a minor’s data for any purpose beyond the teaching process.

Communication stays inside the academy and comes with protection tools:

• the platform chat has academy and group channels and, where the academy chooses, direct messages, including between students; chat and direct messages are switched on for each academy separately;
• the only people one can talk to are students and staff of the same academy: there are no outside users, public profiles or chats open to everyone;
• any message can be reported: the report goes straight to the academy’s super admins, who review it in the moderation section;
• any user can be blocked: a blocked user cannot start a direct conversation;
• announcements are sent by staff to students;
• material a student submits — test answers, practice files and feedback — is visible only to their academy.

A report is accepted from anyone: a student, a parent, academy staff or an outside observer. No account is required.

1. write to the address at the bottom of this page and state in the subject that the message concerns the safety of a minor;
2. name the academy or subdomain, the date, and where on the platform the described events happened;
3. attach screenshots if you have them, and do not delete the original correspondence until the investigation is over.

Such reports are handled first, outside the ordinary queue. The procedure is:

• receipt is confirmed and a responsible person is assigned;
• on reasonable suspicion of danger, access for the accounts concerned is suspended immediately, pending clarification;
• the material and sign-in records are preserved as evidence and protected from alteration;
• the academy is notified, unless doing so would harm the investigation;
• where a violation is confirmed, the account is terminated with no right of restoration.

Cases bearing the signs of a crime are reported to the competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia, and we cooperate with them within the limits set by law.

Data relating to such a case is not erased under the ordinary procedure and is kept for as long as the investigation or the law requires — even where an account deletion request has been filed.
